Ok, I was extremely excited for the 3.0 update because it came with great features. I stayed up until 3 AM waiting for the upgrade, but it wasn’t out yet. Turns out it didn’t come out until 10AM, while I was at work – but I still can’t confirm if that was the actual time. So, I came home and was excited to update my iPhone 3G, finally. And then I come to find out it’s not worth the excitement. Let’s go over the pros & cons.
Pros
- Copy & paste. I think that’s THEE best feature included in the update.
- Landscape keyboard for e-mail & text.
- Phone calls finally gives specifics (i.e. incoming, outgoing, time, and length).
- Forward text messages and delete single/multiple messages.
Cons
- CAN’T receive photos/videos because AT&T does not support MMS.
- Internet speed is still the same.
- Spotlight search across iPhone. Granted that it is a great idea, but the placement of where this option is located is annoying.
- Voice memos is not an upgrade because you can find an app for that.
Everything else, I don’t really care about. But the WHOLE point of this update was to FINALLY be able to receive & send pictures messages. AT&T, you better fix this – STAT! In all honesty, there was no point to this update. They should have waited until AT&T decided to stop being little btiches and decided to support MMS. I mean, if they wanted this update, they should have at least not mentioned the great MMS features.
